Well this is original. In Gazaland, Harare, and so presumably elsewhere, oxyacetylene gas welding is done using cylinders of oxygen with converted fire extinguishers full of water and a chunk of Calcium Carbide (CaC₂) which produces Acetylene (C₂H₂). This reaction used to be used for mining lamps and caving lights.
