The blueberries are grown for export in the region of Macheke on the Harare – Rusape road. Needless to say there have been a lot of Blueberry goatsmilk smoothies since we goat back from Harare. (This keyboard must have a life of its own!)
Oxygen and home-made Acetylene in Gazaland
Well this is original. In Gazaland, Harare, and so presumably elsewhere, oxyacetylene gas welding is done using cylinders of oxygen with converted fire extinguishers full of water and a chunk of Calcium Carbide (CaC2) which produces Acetylene (C2H2). This reaction used to be used for mining lamps and caving lights.
